We have brought fun and excitement and mixed it in with the beauty and cultural experiences the lake has to offer. We depart from our office in Panajachel and head over to the colorful village of Santa Catarina Palopo. In this village we are able to see and learn about local weavings, blankets, nahuales and other goods made and sold by the locals. At the plaza of this village, we visit a local coffee house where you can grind your own coffee and taste the locally grown beans. Once finished in Santa Catarina we hop back on our ATVs to the village of San Antonio Palopo. We visit local ceramic factory where we learn about the process to make all these incredible goods. We also visit a local chocolate factory in San Antonio where we learn about the process...

We had so much fun! We did the 9:00 tour but we didn’t have a chance to eat breakfast so they let us sit and finish eating and then started the tour! The tour was just us two and the guide! The guide was amazing spoke Spanish, English, and the indigenous language of Guatemala! I loved all the stops, trying chocolate, pottery, the culture!!

This tour was stunning! It was my second ATV tour with simoon rentals and I have so much fun each time riding the ATV’s. I got lucky that it was just me on the tour, and my tour guide Yeshua was amazing, he made the experience fun and relaxing and brought me around to some gorgeous places. The weather was amazing and the energy was beautiful. I’m very sad to be leaving Guatemala but I’ll absolutely be back and will be doing another ATV tour the next time as well. Thank you so much for the experience!

Loved it! Got to visit different pueblos and learn lots of amazing things and buy artisanal chocolate and cups. Nemias was very knowledgeable.

Wow! Not only did we get an ATV ride, but enjoyed learning more about the local culture. Visited a local ceramics factory, saw a weaving and chocolate demo. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Nemias riding ATVs and seeing the sights. We felt very safe on the roads and still had a blast. We also visited the local beach at the end of the trip which was a neat and quick stop. We would’ve never seen it. We also booked the boat tour the next day since we had so much fun ATVing around.

We had a great time on this tour. The ride up to Mirador on the off roads was a lot of fun and the vew of the lake from Mirador was the main attraction of the ride. Our guide Sebastian was phenomenal and answered every question we had. Would highly recommend it. Great value for the money.

Great experience! This 4 hour long ATV tour was exactly what we wanted. We visited Santa Catalina and San Antonio de Palopo. The ceramic factory and chocolate tasting were the main highlights. Learning more about the locals hand weaving and typical clothing was also great. Our guide Yetsua was very nice and knowledgeable.

A very great experience for my sister and I. My sister has a disability and we didn’t realize there was some walking involved when visiting the different areas. Our guide was very kind and helpful. He helped my sister and was very patient with us. My sister had a great time and was so happy she could ride the ATV’s. The ride has very beautiful views and you get to learn about their textiles, chocolate, and weaving process. Not to mention, you get to stop by a local coffee shop to enjoy a nice cup of coffee as well. We definitely recommend it. It was a great and fun experience.

Great tour of neighboring towns Santa Caterina Palopo and San Antonio Palopo. A perfect way to take in the scenery and have a little off-road adventure as well as drive the fun mountain roads. We were staying at Casa Palopo and took a tuk tuk into Panajachel to the Simoon Tours shop to meet up with our guide Sebastian and pick up the ATVs. He took us to a great coffee shop where the beans are grown in the hills just above, we watched women weaving at their home shop, saw a working ceramics shop, and visited a chocolate shop. It didn’t feel kitschy or pushy. We didn’t feel obligated to buy things. But we did buy things hehe - we felt it’s a nice way to support the local community and bring home gifts and souvenirs that we knew the origins of. Highly recommend, especially the 9am tour as the weather can get rainy in the afternoon. We had amazing weather and totally worth getting up for.
